Fallacy (small stone 14)

aisle upon aisle
of once fresh wholesome food
now processed and packaged
in pretty wrappers
choices abundant yet devoid of nutritional value
great quantities do not equal great quality
i detour beyond plastic sustenance
in search of real fare

I am participating in The River Of Stones.
by writing a small stone every day for the month of January.
A *small stone is a very short piece of writing that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment.

So true, so true. If I can have it fresh, I'll take that option always. If that option is not available, I will either choose not to eat the particular item or try to find something in as natural a state as possible. I think this is hugely important for anyone, but particularly so for someone who is chronically ill.

I, too, agree! I can't do the shopping anymore, but I keep reminding Hubby to get fresh and natural. I remember seeing one cooking show, and when a processed item came out, they said there was no such color in nature!
Peace,

Sounds like my favorite snack aisle in the convenience store!

I am blessed with enough space to grow a lot of my own stuff - esp this time of the year in the sth hemisphere. It tastes so much better.

This is so true, and it's why we've stopped buying that stuff, and make all our meals from scratch. That way we know what's in them! Good stone!

All those pretty little packages come at quite a price.
