Crowned (small stone 9)

the promise of spring
adorned with icy reminders...
there are long days ahead
before bursting forth in leafy glory
~Karen

A photo taken in my backyard this weekend, the mild winter has confused the flora, as our weather is constantly in flux.

I am participating in The River Of Stones.
by writing a small stone every day for the month of January.
A *small stone is a very short piece of writing that precisely captures a fully-engaged moment.

Karen, this photo is a haiku on its own. So much is communicated in the simple frame you chose to accompany your stone. Simply brilliant.

Wow, that is an amazing macro shot; it really looks like the bud is wearing a crown! This is an exquisite small stone!

Hi everyone,

Our weather has been just nuts! I don't ever remember seeing buds on a maple tree in mid January. Thanks for popping in.

Judy and Inger. The photo was a quick snap that I didn't think would be much good, then I viewed it on the computer! I like surprises like this!
