Bubbles and Sparklers

We had a great long weekend and spent most of our time in the yard. Beep played on her swings, chased bubbles, her and papa (Hubbers) played baseball, soccer, and badminton. She helped with the gardening, and bathing Merfy. She made her own bed every morning, made pizza, and ate us out of house and home. We played checkers, watched a movie, listened to music, coloured, read, made a couple of dolls from a kit, and snuggled a lot! A good terrific time was had by all.

Mom and dad came to pick her up early on Monday morning, we were all going to go on a picnic, but I couldn't join them, it was 84 degrees.

Today it is going up to 93!!! I am sitting here in a funk, I don't know how I am going to get through this summer. Heat and humidity wreak havoc with the MS. The sun is also my enemy because of the Lupus. My glass half full, seems suddenly half empty.

On Mother's day we had snow, now 9 days later, a heat wave!! I really think I'd rather have snow.

Day Journal, May 17, 2013

Outside my window:

This sweet little guy showed up at one of our feeders before Mother's Day. A bird I have not seen before. He is a Rose-breasted Grosbeak. They winter in South America, and come back to North America in May, to breed.

We had snow on Mother's Day, this bird is mainly an insect eater. Thankfully, they also like sunflower seeds, peanuts and safflower seeds, that I keep the feeders stocked with.

What made me frown/upset/sad/laugh/smile/happy recently: It's been difficult for me lately.

I've had a relapse, MS and/or Lupus. I could barley get out of bed in the morning, and when I did, my day was full of pain and disability. I dared not look in the mirror for long, for fear that the lupus rash on my face had become worse than the day before. I have a big jar of corticosteroid cream that is helping ease it. After taking it VERY easy, (because the doc threatened steroids), I am starting to feel a little better.

One of my favourite things: Beep's smile!

She's growing like a weed isn't she!

Looking forward to: This weekend.

It's the Victoria day long weekend in Canada. Beep is going to stay with us for 4 days and 3 nights. She has done an overnighter many times, but this will be her first "extended stay". She is "practising" for the summer, when she will be coming up to the cottage with us for a week, without her mom and dad.

When we originally scheduled this weekend, I was "healthy", and had many exciting and marvellous activities planned. I'm afraid it will now be rather low key. When I told Beep this fact, she said, "That's okay gramma, I have fun drawing, playing with Merfy, watching the birds, and just being with you. You can still snuggle...right?"

A(nother) photo I am sharing: Fun at the feeder.

Cheers

A Touch Of Tranquility - At The Lake

I go to nature to be soothed and healed,
and to have my senses put in order.
